About the Ceremony

The Graham School diploma ceremony at the University of Chicago celebrates the academic achievements of its graduates in Master of Liberal Arts, Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics, and Master of Science in Threat and Response Management. The ceremony is one of many events that take place on campus during convocation weekend.

During the ceremony, the Dean of the Graham School individually recognizes graduates and presents them with diplomas, symbolizing their hard-earned success and entry into the alumni community. Additionally, graduates are hooded during the ceremony.

For the year 2024, the Graham School will host the ceremony at the David Rubenstein Forum, followed by a reception that lasts until 3:30 p.m. The event provides an opportunity for graduates, family, and friends to celebrate together. It's an event that underscores the school's commitment to lifelong learning and its mission to extend the university’s distinctive educational approach to learners worldwide.

The ceremony and its reception are not just formal academic proceedings but also a celebration of the graduates' journey, achievements, and the beginning of their new chapter as part of a vibrant alumni community.
